Central
Europe offers a distinct and varied picture of
Europe - one of magnificent castles, majestic palaces,
beautiful mountains, rivers, lakes, gardens in
addition to the unique variety of friendly people
and distinct cultures. This tour provides one with
an enriched understanding of the varying cultures,
delicious cuisines, rich medieval and post medieval
history on offer in Central Europe.
Day
01, Fri: Arrive Prague
Welcome to Zlata Praha (Golden Prague). We are warmly received and transferred
to our hotel. After some rest we enjoy our first cultural insight as we dine
with folklore in a local restaurant.

Day 02, Sat: Prague
We start with the best of Prague as we tour the old part of the city
to view the Old Town Square, the famous Astronomical Clock, the Jewish
Quarter, St. Nicholas Church, Charles Bridge and more. Balance of
the day is at leisure. Evening we get yet another cultural experience
as we join an opera performance. (B)
Day 03, Sun: Prague
Today we cross the enchanting and historical Vltava River
to visit the Royal Castle of Hradcany and St. Vitus Cathedral.
Evening at leisure to stroll around town and enjoy the
many cuisines the city has to offer including Pilsner
beer or the Black Beer. (B) Day
04, Mon: Prague / Vienna
Travel by motor coach or first class train to Vienna,
the “City of Waltz”. Dinner tonight will
be in a typical local Heurigen restaurant. A typicality
of Vienna, a Heurigen restaurant is attached to a vineyard
and serves it’s customers the very wine that it
produces.
Overnight: Hotel Ananas/Savoyen, Vienna (3 nights)

05, Tue: Vienna
Our morning sightseeing tour includes visit to the incredible
Hofburg Palace, once the seat of the Austro-Hungarian
Empire, and view the Belvedere Palace, Prater amusement
park, the UN buildings, St. Stephen's Cathedral and other
vivid reminders of the city's imperial history. Evening,
we enjoy another of Eastern Europe’s cultural highlight
- concert of Strauss’ and Mozart’s music. (B)
Day 06, Wed: Vienna
Across from the Hofburg Palace is the Kunsthistorisches
Museum (Museum of Fine Arts). This huge building
houses many of the fabulous art collections
gathered by the Habsburgs and ranks amongst
the richest and most important collections
in the world.
The showpiece of the Egyptian-Oriental Collection,
one of the largest of its kind in the world
is the complete and intact cult chamber of
Prince Kaninisut. We enjoy a guided tour
of the museum in the morning. Vienna offers
a lot of activities of varied interests,
hence the evening is free to waltz the way
across the streets of this European city.

Day 07, Thu: Vienna / Budapest
We journey eastbound by motor
coach or first class train to
Budapest, often called “Paris
of the East”. Enroute we
see the countryside of Eastern
Europe before reaching the Hungarian
capital, Budapest where we are
transferred to our hotel.
Overnight: Mercure Korona, Budapest

Day 08, Fri: Budapest
Situated on the opposite
banks of the Danube
River, the former
cities of Buda and
Pest are linked by
a series of graceful
bridges. Our morning
tour includes views
of the decorative
Parliament building,
seat of the National
Assembly; Vaci Utca,
a pedestrian street
lined with shops
and restaurants;
Heroes' Square with
the Millennium Memorial,
118 foot high Corinthian
column dedicated
to the Roman Catholic
Church, and the Tomb
of the Unknown Soldier.
The balance of the
day is at leisure.

09, Sat: Budapest
Our second tour of
this lively and historical
capital focuses on
the Castle Hill area,
the 13th century
Matthias Church,
Fisherman’s
Bastion and Royal
Palace. Afternoon
is free for last
minute shopping or
independent exploration.
Tonight, we enjoy
a farewell dinner
with entertainment
in a typical csarda
restaurant. (B, D)
Day 10,
Sun:
Depart
Budapest
After
breakfast,
we bid
farewell
to the
Imperial
capitals
of Europe
as we
are transferred
to the
airport
for our
departure
flight.
